THE WHY
Hi, I'm Emmie, and I'm proudly training for the New York City marathon and excited to say that I will be running with the Team for Kids Program (TFK). TFK raises vital funds for NYRR's free youth running programs across the country, empowering thousands of children through fitness, confidence and teamwork.

Hi! I’m Emmie, a 22-year-old based in Salt Lake City, UT. I work as a full-time hairstylist, which I love because I get to connect with people every day. When I’m not working, I’m love fitness, cooking, baking, spending time with my husband and crafting. I am a HUGE U of U football fan and a LOVER of Diet Coke. Most importantly, though, I am driven by a passion for service and giving back to my community.
My desire to help others recently led me to volunteer at a local children's hospital, doing hair. This experience strengthened my commitment to making a tangible difference and has inspired me to do more.
It has always been a dream of mine to run the New York City Marathon. As I looked into the race, I was connected with the Team for Kids (TFK) program. I immediately fell in love with their mission to fund youth running programs, which empower children through fitness, confidence, and teamwork.
This year, I am running to accomplish my biggest personal goal while supporting TFK's vital work. Join me as I train and fundraise to give more children the opportunity to experience the positive power of fitness!
